An Unemployment Benefit is payable to an insured person who is under the age of 60 years and has involuntarily lost their employment through no fault of their own, and satisfies the contribution conditions.
An insured person must have a minimum of 26 weeks of paid contributions in the 52 weeks immediately before the date of the claim. The insured person must be capable of and available for work, and must be actively seeking employment.
Benefit rate definition: The Unemployment Benefit is paid at a rate of 60% of average weekly insurable earnings. The benefit is payable after a waiting period and for a limited duration as prescribed under the National Insurance Ordinance.
